Picture framing involves many areas of expertise from design, colour,
dimensional perspective, carpentry, glazing, a large technical base on
preservation, techniques and customer service.
Mat boards or mat borders are not only for decor and design for your tastes but were originally introduced
when pictures became adhered to the glass and were lost forever.
These have a major part in conserving your art or memorable photo. There are situations were it may not
suit a border and we recommend a glass spacer or glass raiser. A clear tubing that is not seen which
elevates the glass off the piece and protects for years to come.
MAT BOARDS
Mat cutting or design can involve many combinations:
- A single, double, triple or other combination creating that personalized frame
- Museum or rag, conservation, buffered, unbuffered, colour core, white core and the choices is continue
- Use fillets of which are very enhancing and come in many designs

MOULDINGS
Picture framing wood is called a moulding. When considering the external
surrounds of a piece, work from the piece outwards, then the mat to suit and
lastly the moulding.Thus in this way it will all pull together to enhance the
centre piece.
Custom picture framing is a symphony working together with the central
piece. The frames or mouldings should pull it all together along with the decor of the room.
Exciting mouldings come from all over the world via importers to the framing industry.
Various techniques are used in the manufacturing process to create unique mouldings.

CANVAS STRETCHING
Canvas stretching is a required skill that takes some mastering because of the differant canvas material
used by artists throughout the world.Strong quality is usually found in quality work although the art from eg
Bali etc is on a poor quality canvas a lot of the time.This can be extremely challenging to get taught and
even as it often also has minimal edge to work with.EVEN though we can usually get a good result.
